Do you know someone who has gone the extra mile for our borough and really made a difference? If so, then please nominate them for one of our Civic Awards!
Barnet Civic Awards
All it takes is a short visit to barnet.gov.uk/civic-awards where you put them forward for a Civic Award. You can also nominate someone by emailing mayor@barnet.gov.uk or phoning the Mayor’s Office on 0208 3592652. The only rule is that nominees must live, work or study in the Barnet borough. Nominations close on 31 December.
There are three categories you can choose between:
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement
- Outstanding Service to the Community.
Each nomination will be reviewed by a judging panel. The winners will be invited to a ceremony in Hendon Town Hall on Wednesday 25 March to receive their award.
The Worshipful Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Caroline Stock, said: “Christmas can be such a hectic time of year. It’s a time for gift giving and showing appreciation to those that we love and those special people that make our world such a wonderful place. Why not give the gift of a Barnet Civic Award nomination this Christmas?
“These awards recognise hard work, dedication, personal achievement and community-mindedness. Our borough is home to countless people who regularly do wonderful things for the community – be it as a carer, volunteer, businessperson or sportsperson. They do it out of the goodness of their hearts, and it’s great that we can give something back to them. Help us to say thank you by nominating them now.”
