The council has already contacted subscribers directly to confirm their first fortnightly collection day which will either be Saturday 9 May or Saturday 16 May.  Subscribers can also check when their collection day online

Subscriptions have been extended for residents who have already signed up and paid for the service to ensure they receive the collections they have signed up for.

Councillor Dean Cohen, Chairman of the Barnet Council Environment Committee, said: “We are pleased that we can now introduce the service knowing we have staffing levels to do this as well as maintaining weekly refuse and recycling collections. Thank you to our customers for their patience and understanding.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our staff for their continued commitment and hard work in keeping these vital services going.”

The sticker originally issued to subscribers will still be valid for a 12-month period starting from their service start date.

Those customers who have received their garden waste sticker issued by the council should ensure it is applied to the centre of the lid of their green garden waste bin before their first fortnightly collection.

Residents can still sign up and pay for the service at www.barnet.gov.uk/gardenwaste.
