You will need to have applied to designate your street trading area and have it granted before you can apply for a 3 Year Permanent Street Trading Licence.

When you need to apply to designate a street trading area
Should you wish to continue trading after your second 6 months Temporary Street Trading licence you will need ensure you have designated your street trading ready for you to make an application for a permanent licence.
You will need to submit your application no later than 3 months before the date that your second 6-month temporary street trading licence is due to expire.
Documents you must supply with your application
When submitting your application form to the Licensing Team you will also need to provide them with:
- a photograph of the area that you wish to designate
- a sketch/drawing of the proposed licensed area
- the application fee.
Costs
The fee is set by the Highways contractor, please speak to the Licensing Team for further information.
Granting the application
Once a designation application is received the Licensing Authority will undertake the first of two 28 day consultations. This first consultation will be advertised in the local newspaper and will identify the premises that are proposing to have their licensed area designated. Once the first consultation has come to an end and should there not be any objections to the granting of the application a second consultation will begin. The second 28 day consultation will confirm the designation of the licenced area.
Once these consultations have finished then the process for the Designation of the Street Trading Area will be complete.
