Dear Barnet Borough Council,I appreciate that not everyone pays council tax when due nor at all.In the financial years 2022/23 and 2023/24:- How many applications did you make to any court to assist in the recovery of unpaid tax?- How many of those were successful, in that a distress warrant was issued or similar outcome in your favour?- How many resulted in collection in full?- What were your costs incurred (not the same as those granted by the courts) to take this action. Please provide a breakdown of those costs in line with the schedules I assume you presented to courts if/when requesting costs from the defaulter.- What proportion of your costs were recovered?Please respond using either plain text in a Microsoft Word(r) or an Adobe(r) pdf document.
