Director's welcome
We are tenacious for children and families in Barnet, and resilience is at the heart of our vision to make Barnet the most family friendly borough in London. We want our children and families to thrive and our staff are critical to meeting that challenge. We want our most vulnerable children to have great social workers and be supported by other professionals who share our vision and who are committed to meeting their needs.
Now is a very exciting time to join Barnet Council. Our schools are excellent with some of the best outcomes in the country, we have strong SEND work and a dynamic and innovative child-focussed service. But we aren’t complacent and want to continually improve. We want to do the very best for our residents by putting children and young people at the centre of everything we do. Our workforce is committed to meeting children’s needs, that’s one of the reasons why we are so proud of them and support their development through excellent professional development.
If you join us, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and their families. Accessing our extensive Workforce Development Programme, our integrated clinical services and our supportive existing workforce you will have the opportunity to develop professionally and progress your career.
I do hope you find the information on these pages interesting and helpful. I look forward to welcoming you to Barnet’s Children and Family Services.
