You no longer need to book in advance to visit Summers Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre. You can simply arrive at the site during opening hours.

Conditions of entry to Summers Lane
Check the latest information for the site before you leave home.
The site is open to:
- cars
- bikes
- pedestrians
A limited number of cars will be allowed on-site at once. Only 2 people should leave the car while on site.
You should sort your items into different types before you arrive, this will minimise congestion on site.
Site staff are available to help disabled people with unloading. Please bring proof of disability with you.
If you don't have a disability, you will need to carry your items by yourself or with 1 other person.
For visits in a van, make a booking at least 24 hours in advance of your visit. Proof of residency, such as a utility bill is required for van bookings.
Please keep children and dogs in your car or van during your visit for their own safety.
Opening times
The site is open 7 days a week from 9am to 4pm.
The site will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Please allow enough time to unload your rubbish and recycling before the site closes. At peak periods we would recommend allowing 30 minutes to ensure you have sufficient time to access the sites and use all the available services.
Please note: the outer gates at our facilities will close 15 minutes before closing time.

DIY materials
You can now deposit unwanted but good condition DIY materials or take them for free from the designated area at the Reuse and Recycling Centre. This is available on a trial basis which will run throughout the summer. Items include:
- bricks
- slabs
- odd tiles
- timber
If you'd like to drop off or collect any DIY materials please speak to a member of onsite staff for information and potential restrictions.
Give away or reuse items
Consider giving your items away that are in fair or good condition.
This may benefit others who might be in need of your item.
They also might be willing to collect from you saving you a trip and reducing costs.
