The StayAlive app is a suicide prevention resource for the UK. It's full of useful information to help you stay safe.
You can use it if you are having thoughts of suicide or if you are concerned about someone else who may have suicidal ideas.
The app has many life-saving features including:
- strategies for staying safe
- how to help a person thinking about suicide
- access to local and national support
All guidance and information within the app are reviewed and updated every 6 months.
The app is fully compliant with GDPR and international data management standards.
Peer support and training
Andy’s Man Club
Andy's Man Club offers peer to peer support for men.
There are talking groups for men who have either been through a storm, are currently going through a storm or have a storm brewing in life.

Zero Suicide Alliance training, increases confidence in ability to talk to someone who might have suicidal thoughts.
North Central London Support After Suicide Service
Amparo supports people bereaved by suicide who live, work or study in the London Boroughs of:
- Camden
- Islington
- Barnet
- Enfield
- Haringey
Support is also provided to you if you live outside of the Boroughs but have been impacted by a suicide that occurred within the boroughs.
People of any age can access the service, but if children and young people are involved, the service will work with specialised agencies to ensure the right support services are in place.
The service offers Suicide Bereavement one-to-one emotional and practical support, time limited Bereavement Counselling Support, and Peer Group Support facilitated by a Suicide Bereavement Worker and a North Central London (NCL) Volunteer with lived experience of bereavement by suicide

The Listening Place offers a warm and welcoming environment; somewhere that individuals can talk openly about their feelings without being judged or being given advice.

The Sanctuary (Mind in Barnet)
Sanctuary Barnet works with anyone over the age of 18. They provide access to immediate emotional support to anyone experiencing distress. They offer up to 4 one to one support sessions, up to 4 short term counselling sessions with a therapist, and peer support and groups. They work alongside clients to explore their challenges, identify coping strategies and resources, and to link them into services to build their support network and resilience.
The helpline is open from 4.30pm to 10.30pm on weekdays and 12pm to 6pm on weekends.

James' Place
James' Place offers free, life-saving therapy to men, and those identifying as men, who have arrived at a suicidal crisis point largely driven by life events.
They provide quick access to short and focused one to one therapy, delivered over six to eight face to face sessions, helping men to understand and recover from a suicidal crisis.

Kooth
Kooth.com is a digital counselling service for young people between ages 11 and 25, to help support young people. They provide free, safe and anonymous online counselling.

Good thinking
Good Thinking is a London-wide NHS digital wellbeing service designed to support low-level mental health needs. It offers digital self-assessment followed by a range of personalised, clinically approved digital and local interventions based on your preferences and location.

Suicide Prevention Training Programme
Understanding Self Harm: Tools for a compassionate & effective response.
Who is it for?
Anyone working or living in Barnet in a role where they come across or could support someone who self harms.
Get equipped with a solid understanding of the contributing factors, triggers, functions and signs of self harm, a clear and effective intervention framework to guide support, as well as a wide range of practical strategies to share with someone who self-harms.

Caring Connections: Identifying and supporting people at risk of suicide
Who is it for?
Barnet professionals and volunteers working in public facing and/or support services.
Participants develop the suicide intervention and prevention skills, enabling them to identify, engage, and collaboratively provide safety planning to people at risk of suicide.

Real Talk: Conversations that save lives
Who is it for?
