Mental health training
For carers caring for someone with specific diagnosed mental health conditions. The training will help you understand the diagnosis and give you the skills and knowledge to care.
Two evening courses available:
- Mondays - 4 monthly sessions
- Tuesdays - 10 weekly sessions

Manual handling training
For carers who undertake manual handling activities. This is a rolling programme; contact the Barnet Carers Centre for further information.

Dementia training
Aimed at carers who are looking after someone newly diagnosed with dementia. The training will help you understand dementia, and provide you with coping skills.
This programme is run four times a year and the training provided is in half day sessions held over four weeks.

Safeguarding and abuse
Information sessions and training on safeguarding for carers. Areas covered include carers reporting concerns, carers as victims and carers as potential perpetrators.
Training is available for all carers and is arranged by the Adults and Communities Workforce Development Lead. Training sessions are held twice yearly (June and November).
